Clearcable to Help Puslinch Improve Broadband

May 29, 2020

Puslinch, ON – Clearcable is delighted to commence work with the Township of Puslinch to improve broadband services for local citizens. The Township has partnered with Clearcable and the University of Guelph R2B2 Project to assess the current status, define technology options, and create an overall Broadband Strategy that will pave the way for new services.

The Township will seek all options for federal, provincial, and local service provider support to improve Internet service in the area and will leverage Clearcable’s expertise in service provider and municipal networking to build the required technical plan and business case, and to provide the detailed information necessary for the application or opportunity evaluation process.

“Municipalities are in the best position to intimately understand the needs of their constituents,” says Clearcable founder Rob McCann, “working together with Puslinch’s dedicated civic leadership team and the researchers of the R2B2 Project will yield solid viable solutions for the unique geography of the Township.” Building better broadband for communities of all sizes if core to Clearcable’s mission.

The residents of the Township of Puslinch truly have the best of both worlds. Puslinch has the laid-back feel of country living while still having convenient access to urban amenities with close proximity to major cities. “Our citizens need the same broadband services they see in major cities,” says CAO Glenn Schwendinger, “our Broadband Strategy project, taking advantage of Clearcable’s nearby expertise, will deliver value to our community and help accelerate broadband improvements.”

The triple-helix collaboration of the municipal government, higher-education research, and private sector expertise is major tenant of the Intelligent Community movement. This collaboration is expected to help position the Township for continued economic success and a high standard of living.

Puslinch Mayor and Wellington County Councillor James Seeley noted “the entire council and I are excited to partner with Clearcable and the University of Guelph to provide the highest opportunity for increased high-speed internet service in Puslinch. There has never been a time in the Internet’s existence that high quality, high speed connection is so essential to everyone”
